Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil a hologram statue of the great freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at India Gate on Sunday (January 23, 2022).
The Prime Minister's gesture will come in the wake of the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. PM Modi on Friday announced that a grand statue of the freedom fighter would be installed at India Gate "as a symbol of India's debt to him".
In a tweet, the Prime Minister said that an iconic statue will be installed at the top of India Gate to commemorate the great freedom fighter of India and to honor his supreme sacrifice for the country's independence.
“At a time when the entire nation is celebrating the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, I am happy to share that his grand granite statue will be installed at India Gate. This will be a symbol of India's indebtedness to them," tweeted PM Modi.
PM Modi further said, 'Till the grand statue of Netaji Bose is not ready, his hologram statue will be present at the same place. I will unveil the hologram statue on January 23, the birth anniversary of Netaji.
Official sources said the dimensions of the granite statue would be 28 feet tall and six feet wide and added that its installation would be a matter of India "reclaiming" its history.
Additionally, the Bose family in Kolkata lauded the Government of India's decision to install a statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at India Gate on the occasion of his 125th birth anniversary.
Chandra Kumar said, "We appreciate the Centre's initiative to put up a statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at India Gate. But if you really want to honor him, then implement his inclusive ideology of uniting all communities." The real tribute to independent India is incomplete." Bose, Netaji's grandson on Friday.
Chandra Kumar Bose while talking to ANI said, "The proposal to install a statue of India's liberator Subhas Chandra Bose at India Gate has been around for many years. I submitted my proposal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on eight issues. One of which is the India Gate proposal. There was a statue in front of it which is a strategic location and the right place to pay a befitting tribute to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose."

- The hologram statue is 28 feet high and 6 feet wide
- It is powered by a 30,000 lumen 4KW projector
- An invisible, high gain, 90% transparent holographic screen constructed in such a way that it is not visible to visitors
- A 3D image of Netaji will be projected onto it to create the effect of a hologram
- A hologram is a photographic recording of a light field rather than an image formed by a lens
