Cyclone Fani Status: Cyclone is currently about 65 km from Gopalpur and 80 km from Puri of Odisha
New Delhi: The landslide process of Cyclone Phani - also declared FONI - started at 8 am in Puri around Odisha, the speed of air was recorded at approximately 185 kilometers per hour in this area. He said that for the next two hours the landslide process is expected to continue. With this, the area is running at a speed of 142 km / hour, which can reach 180-200 kmph, Puri said, in the charge of Cyclone Warning Division of the Meteorological Department of India, in the charge of the news agency PTI.
The Odisha Government has already sent lakhs of people from coastal areas to camps in high grounds. At least 14 districts in Odisha are on the way to cyclone Fani. People from Gajapati, Ganjam, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal and Keonjhar have been evacuated by storm. About 11 lakh people have been evacuated in the last 24 hours. Ganjam and Puri were transported more than 3 lakh and 1.3 lakh people to safer places respectively. Nearly 5000 kitchens were operated to serve the people in the shelters.
All flights from Bhubaneswar to Midnight have been canceled, will be closed from 9.30 pm to 6.00 pm on Saturday at 6.00 pm on Kolkata Airport. A total of 140 trains including 83 passenger trains have been canceled till now. After crossing Odisha, there is the possibility of moving towards West Bengal before cyclone fencing is stopped.
Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and Disaster Management Agencies are fully prepared and stand-by. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday reviewed the preparations of Cyclone Phani with his senior officials.
