IOS 16 Features :
New passkey feature
Apple's iOS 16 update is adding a new passkey feature. Apple says it's part of the browsing experience in Safari and says they can't be "phished or leaked" and are designed to replace passwords. Passkeys use Touch ID or Face ID for biometric verification, and iCloud Keychain to sync with end-to-end encryption across iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV. These are built as a joint effort in collaboration with the FIDO Alliance, Google and Microsoft, and will work across passkey apps and the web. Users will be able to sign into websites or apps on non-Apple devices with this feature using only their iPhone.
5GB Update
Based on what we're seeing on the iPhone 13, that's an update to 5GB. Keep in mind that this device was on iOS 16 Public Beta.
Apple iOS 16 update now rolling out to all beta users
The iOS 16 update is now rolling out to all beta users. Those who were on the public or developer beta will see the update. Its size is approx 5.02GB.
Messages app will get new sub-category
Apple is adding more sub-categories to the Messages app with iOS 16. The Message Filter extension will now categorize business messages into sub-categories such as Finance, Orders, Reminders, Coupons, etc. This should streamline the Messages app a bit more and bring some much-needed commands to iPhone users across the world.
How to Check for Updates
To check for updates, simply go to the Settings app on your iPhone, then tap on General & Software Update. The update should reflect once the roll out starts at 10.30 IST. Make sure you are connected to WiFi while updating as it will consume a lot of data and you will need a stable internet connection to install it.
These features will come later
Not all features of iOS 16 will be rolling out today. Some features like the shared photo library with family will come in a separate update later this year. The new Freeform productivity app will also come later.
Edit or Unsend iMessage on iPhone
Apple's new iOS 16 iPhone update will let you edit and unsend text messages for the first time ever. This means that if you send a message to the wrong person you can go back and correct a typo or delete it. Users will have 15 minutes to unsend the text. Once 15 minutes is up, you will no longer have the ability to recall messages.
Fitness app is more useful
Apple's iOS 16 is making the fitness app even more useful for people who don't have an Apple Watch. The fitness app will now help users track and accomplish their fitness goals while keeping an eye on the step count using the iPhone's sensors. It will also track third-party workouts to give an estimate of calories burned to contribute to one's daily move goal.
Medicines feature in Health app
The Medicines feature in the Health app is also an important part of iOS 16. It will help users to track their medicines, set a schedule and get reminders on when they are supposed to take a particular pill. This can be a useful feature for people with chronic illnesses.
Apple may let iOS 16 users bypass the Captcha
Apple's iOS 16 update may also let users bypass CAPTCHA on websites as we noted earlier. This feature is part of the settings under Apple ID > Password & Security > Automatic Verification and once activated, Apple's iCloud verifies the user's device and Apple ID account and does not require any CAPTCHA prompts on other apps or websites. removes.

Other Features You Probably Haven't Heard Of
Apple's iOS 16 update will be packed with features and while not all of them will get the spotlight they deserve, some of it will be very useful for iPhone customers. For one, iOS 16 will let users easily view their WiFi passwords in Settings. In addition, users will be able to remove duplicate photos from photo albums more easily. Read here to know more about these features.
Redesigned Lockscreen
The redesigned lockscreen is the major design update on iOS 16. You can customize it by simply long-pressing the lockscreen and a Customize option will appear. Users can add more widgets etc to the lockscreen as well as use individual photos or even have a set of photos which will be automatically shuffled on the lock screen. Apple's iOS 16 update is bringing a much-awaited feature. Ability to edit or undo messages sent on iMessage up to 15 minutes after they were originally sent. Apple iPhone 8 or iPhone X Users Attention
If you have an older iPhone, such as an iPhone 8 or iPhone X, you will get iOS 16. But many features will not work on these devices. So in some ways this will be a limited update for those who are still on the old iPhone. As we've noted here, features like Live Text, Visual Caption, and Live Caption on videos won't work on older iPhones. Additionally, some of the improvements in Dictation will be limited to newer iPhones as well - such as the A12 Bionic and above.
