Fashion e-commerce platform, Myntra will be offering over 16,000 jobs for various positions in delivery, warehouse handling and logistics this festive season. During the same period last year, the organization had provided around 11,000 job opportunities.
“Out of these 16,000 jobs, 10,000 will be direct employment opportunities, while 6,000 will be indirect. Nupur Nagpal, Chief Human Resource Officer, Myntra told Economic Times, “This is considered to be our highest hiring of any festive season so far.”
As per the latest report, about half of the current new batch supply chain management staff will continue to work and the contact center staff will be there for the duration of the contract.
The posts for which Myntra is recruiting this year include Sorting, Packing, Picking, Loading, Unloading, Delivery, Return Inspection as well as Cargo Fleet Management.
Earlier in June this year, Myntra sold 5 million items on the first day of its flagship bi-annual "End of Region Sale" (EORS) held from June 11 to 16. The retailer shipped 2.6 million items within the first 24 hours. Event. The online retailer reported a 70% increase in traffic during the event compared to regular days.
The fashion platform had also created 27,500 third party jobs ahead of the EORS sale period in June this year.
The Flipkart-owned company had leased 300,000 square feet from managed workspace provider Indicube in Bengaluru's Outer Ring Road for its new corporate headquarters.
The new office has a seating capacity of over 2,600 people, which is more than twice the size of its previous office. This allows employees the flexibility to work from the office, as well as enable personalized collaboration as the fashion e-tailer enters a hybrid model of work. It has already shifted to new premises from its 130,000 sq ft office at Kudlu Gate, Hosur Road, where it spent almost 12 years.
