His body will be kept at his residence on Peddar Road from 12:30 pm to 3 pm. Later his body will be taken to Shivaji Park for public viewing at 4.30 pm.
Lata Mangeshkar had tested positive for Covid-19 on January 8 with mild symptoms and was undergoing treatment at the hospital. He was admitted to the ICU of Breach Candy Hospital, where he was being treated by Dr. Pratit Samdani and his team of doctors. The veteran singer was showing improvement till last week but her health deteriorated and she was put on ventilator support on Saturday morning. The singer was also undergoing treatment for pneumonia. She recovered from COVID-19 and pneumonia on January 30.
On Saturday, several high-profile personalities including Union Minister Piyush Goyal, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar and NCP leader Supriya Sule visited the hospital to check on the singer.
In November 2019, Mangeshkar was admitted to the same hospital after he complained of difficulty in breathing and developed pneumonia. He was discharged after 28 days.
Born in Indore, Mangeshkar remained the voice of the ideals of the screen for generations. He began his career in 1942 at the age of 13 and sang over 30,000 songs in several Indian languages in a career spanning over seven decades.
His first successful song, Dil Mera Toda, was in 1948 for the film Majboor. The following year, in 1949, Lata Mangeshkar gained massive popularity with the track Aayega Aane Wala from the Madhubala-starrer Mahal. Thereafter, there was no looking back for Mangeshkar, becoming one of the most iconic singers in the history of Indian cinema and music.

His last full album was for the 2004 film 'Veer Zaara' directed by late filmmaker Yash Chopra. Mangeshkar's last song was 'Saugandh Mujhe Is Mitti Ki', which was released on March 30, 2021 as a tribute to the Indian Army. He was awarded the Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian honor in 2001.
Lata Mangeshkar was also the recipient of several awards including Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan, Dadasaheb Phalke Award and several National Film Awards.
