Recently, OnePlus started a collaboration with Hasselblad to improve the quality of its cameras. But its not exclusive on the brand and Oppo's cousins will also benefit. Remember those live photos of the Oppo Find X5 Pro last month? He also showed the Hasselblad logo to be similar to that of Oppo.
Oppo X5 Pro Specifications
He also showed off a "Powered by MarySilicon" stamp on the redesigned camera bump -- Oppo's in-house brand for image processing chips. These will be major camera improvements for the X5 Pro as the phone will use the same hardware as the X3 Pro.
It includes two Sony IMX766 sensors (50 MP, 1/1.56", 1.0 µm). One goes into the main camera (behind the f/1.7 lens) and the other to ultra wide (f/2.2). The MariSilicon chip will drive image processing in the 10-bit color space as well as the omni-directional autofocus system as quickly as possible.
However, the telephoto camera may be different. According to WinFuture, the Find X5 Pro will be equipped with a 13 MP camera with 5x hybrid zoom. For comparison, the 13MP tele camera on the X3 Pro only offers 2x optical magnification. Earlier leaks also showed only 2x optical magnification for the X5 Pro, so it could also be a matter of same hardware, different processing.
The front camera will almost certainly be different, however, as it should get the new IMX615 sensor from the Reno 7 series, replacing the 709 one. It will have an f/2.2 lens with the same 32 MP resolution and 90º FoV.
There will also be iterative improvements to the electrical system, with battery capacity increasing to 5,000 mAh (from 4,500 mAh) and charging up to 80W (from 65W). The phone will also support wireless charging, though the power is yet to be determined.
The screen on the X5 Pro is expected to be largely the same with a 6.7” LTPO AMOLED with 1440p+ resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. This time it will be protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. Made of aluminum and glass, the body of the phone will get the same IP68 rating for dust and water resistance as before.
While the glossy Ceramic Black and Ceramic White are just names (again, the back is glass), the phone will be thicker and heavier than its predecessor at 8.5 mm and 218 grams (up from 8.3 mm and 193 grams). Battery.
The Oppo Find X5 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage (no microSD slot). The Pro model will cost over €1,200 and will be one of three models in the family. The Lite will be a rebadged Reno7, leaving the vanilla Oppo Find X5, which should be powered by the Dimension 9000. Oppo is expected to unveil the Find X5 trio towards the end of the month.
