The iPhone 14 vs. iPhone 14 Plus is a brand new iPhone match-up this year, with Apple dropping the smaller iPhone mini size for the bigger Max. And it can have a big impact on your buying decision.
The iPhone 14 is the same regular mid-size iPhone that you're probably already familiar with. However, the iPhone 14 Plus will offer a cheaper way to get the size of the iPhone 14 Pro Max without paying for a better display or advanced features like a camera array. IPhone 14 vs. iPhone 14 Max: Price
The standard iPhone 14 starts at Rs 79900 and the new iPhone 14 Plus costs a little more than Rs 89900.
At that price, the iPhone 14 Plus can really blow away Samsung and Google. The Google Pixel 6 Pro costs roughly the same and the Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus comes in at around $100 more in the US.
The iPhone 14 Plus can give a tough competition to these flagship phones, though it may suffer a bit with its camera and display.
IPhone 14 vs. iPhone 14 Max: Design and Display
Size is the biggest iPhone 14 vs. iPhone 14 Plus difference: The iPhone 14 will have a 6.1-inch display, while the iPhone 14 Plus will have a larger 6.7-inch display. Accordingly, the iPhone 14 weighs just over 6 ounces, while the iPhone 14 Max tip the scales at a little over 7 ounces.
But other than that, the phones aren't much different physically, and both reflect the size and proportions of the first iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
IPhone 14 vs. iPhone 14 Max: Camera
The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus share camera hardware. This includes two 12MP cameras on the back, serving main and ultrawide purposes, and another 12MP camera on the front for your selfie-taking needs.
One new feature you won't find on the previous iPhone is the Photonic Engine. It's Apple's fancy name for a new image processing pipeline that focuses on getting better low-light shots.
IPhone 14 vs. iPhone 14 Max: Performance
The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus stick with the 2021 A15 Bionic chip to power them. Apple decided to offer the new A16 Bionic chip only to the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone Pro Max.
The same chip means similar power for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, though both have an additional GPU core and better cooling than the iPhone 13, which means a slight performance bump even with the same silicon.
Apple also gave both phones the same new safety features – crash detection and satellite-powered emergency SOS. Hopefully you won't need to automatically notify someone that you are in a vehicle collision or are lost somewhere in the woods, but any of these phones will help you.
