The name is familiar - Motorola with the Edge 30 in their name has been around since the start of the year. But the Edge 30 Ultra is part of the latest batch of three models announced to the world last week, and it tops it all. Let's see what is the matter.
But first - naming something else. As is usually the case, the Alter Ego of the Edge 30 Ultra, already available in China under a different name, is the Moto X30 Pro. At this point, we don't think there are any plans for availability in North America, but if past experience is any indication, there will essentially be another name for the same phone (again, if the phone makes it to North American). Back to Edge 30 Ultra. The phone has some big numbers in several areas, starting with the 200MP main camera - the first implementation of that sensor to make it to our doorstep. By one-upping the competition in the second number game, the Edge 30 Ultra's display can refresh up to 144Hz—not a first for Moto, but hardly common outside of gaming phones. The charging power rating is impressive too - the handset supports 125W charging and comes with an adapter that can match it.
As Motorola's flagship variant, the Edge 30 Ultra is powered by the latest top-tier Snapdragon (8+ Gen 1), and has plenty of oomph to feature 'ready for' functionality - Motorola's take on the desktop experience you're looking for. Mainstream niceties like stereo speakers, wireless charging and an under-display fingerprint sensor are also present, but the IP52 rating left us wanting more – Motorola could have put extra effort in for reasonable water resistance on a phone starting at Rs 54999.

Motorola Edge 30 Ultra Unboxing
The Edge 30 Ultra ships completely plastic-free in Motorola's recently adopted packaging. The sturdy two-piece recycled cardboard box works well as a fancier enclosure but comes with a lower carbon footprint.
The contents of our retail bundle include a 125W TurboPower adapter, a USB-C cable, and a clear protective case. The phone itself also has a pre-applied screen protector. However, both are included in select countries, so don't be too surprised if your Edge 30 Ultra ships without one or both. Similarly, some countries will not get a USB-C headset in our box.
